The cat is out of the bag. With Gathering of Corvids done, I’m able to move forward with a new series that hopefully won’t be banned on social media. I could go back to writing sweet western romance, but the thought of writing about one more naked cowboy caused my muse to cringe. I couldn’t go back to that. Paranormal and now romantasy is inundated with authors ready to catch that ride, but let’s be honest, this is me. I combined dystopian with fantasy for my Order & Chaos series (previously known as the Small Sacrifices series) so I wanted to create something new.
My incredibly talented daughter, Maddy, created a character on her iPad that I was instantly mesmerized by. My muse took hold and the idea morphed, stories began, creations began integrating with each other and I knew exactly what I was going to do. I was going to combine True Crime with Fantasy, thus the name for my series “Crimeantasy”. I’ve been planning and plotting for several months while I finished Corvids because I wanted to be respectful of families, while also feeding the fans of true crime. As this will be published as fictional, I’ll be able to change names and situations, while combining the fantasy aspect to the story. My main character, Azreon, will be like none you have ever read about before. He is truly a twisted character, but neither evil, nor good. He is perfectly flawed.
With this new series creation, I realize that my Crimeantasy series will need to have trigger warnings. As each book will have different cases and crimes, I’m planning on having the trigger warnings both on the page and inside the cover of each book, but it will be a broad spectrum letting potential readers know it could contain one or all of the following situations. This is not for young adults, nor the weak of heart.
I do still plan on writing some sweet romance under my married name, RaeAnne Hadley, but I plan to keep it more magical and paranormal as opposed to western.
As Azreon comes to life, I will be planning a lot of giveaways, behind the scenes and hints for my subscribers. This new series; Azreon:Nightmaerz (A Crimeantasy Series Book) will hopefully be released on my birthday, October 28, 2025 and my plan is to release a new story every other month, so these will not be large novels, but smaller word-count packed with drama and pain.
